About My “Crush” Kristen Stewart

Posted in stuff on January 28, 2009 by theolympiccoven

Robert Pattinson sat down for an interview with Seventeen magazine and answered questions about his love life and personal details about himself — like when he had his first kiss.

When asked who is celebrity crush is, Pattinson immediately named his Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart. Her name came up again when Seventeen asked him what he dreamed about the night before.

The 22-year-old also revealed that he had his first kiss when he was 12, his favorite TV shows are American Idol and X Factor, and his dream job would be a pianist.

Meanwhile, Pattinson is gearing up to begin shooting the Twilight sequel New Moon. Stewart is already on board to reprise her role as Bella Swan. New Moon, also starring Taylor Lautner, is due for release in November 2009.

The Twilight soundtrack

Posted in stuff on January 28, 2009 by theolympiccoven

Incidentally, a big part of Paramore’s successful 2008 was Twilight, Music from the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack which has two cuts by the group and is a big hit. The musical companion to one of last year’s biggest box-office hits, it’s the first soundtrack album to debut in No. 1 in the US Billboard charts. It also hit No. 1 in local stores upon release late in 2008 and stayed up throughout the holidays to sell over 10,000 copies.

Lead cut is Paramore’s Decode which is also No. 1 in several radio stations. Now getting heavy airplay is I Caught Myself, the other track by Paramore which is poised to be the CD’s next single. Other cuts are Supermassive Black Hole by Muse; Full Moon by The Black Ghosts; Leave Out All the Rest by Linkin Park; Spotlight by MuteMath; Go All The Way into the Twilight by Perry Farrell; Tremble for My Beloved by Collective Soul; Eyes on Fire by Blue Foundation; Flightless Bird, American Mouth by Iron & Wine; and Bella’s Lullaby by Carter Burwell.

Take note that the Twilight soundtrack includes Never Think, a song written and performed by Rob Pattinson, who as every Twilight fan certainly knows, is the gorgeous guy who plays Edward. The CD also has a booklet that folds into an Edward and Bella poster and collectible trading cards with images of Edward or Bella or James or of Edward and Bella together.

Also available is Twilight, Music from the Motion Picture Soundtrack – The Score. No Paramore here but it has all those beautiful melodies you hear in the background while watching the movie composed by Burwell, who also did the film score.

Another Thing To Drool Over in Twilight

Posted in stuff on January 28, 2009 by theolympiccoven

While Bella and teenage girls everywhere were drooling over Edward Cullen in Twilight, others were drooling over something else. No, we’re not talking about Jacob. We’re talking about the Cullen house in the film.

Architecture nuts are all over the Cullen digs. Designed by Portland’s Skylab Architecture, offscreen the home is known as the Hoke Residence. A kindly architecture student has posted some beautiful pictures of the place. With its strong use of timber, some might say the boxy, contemporary home makes better use of wood than Edward.

Pattinson Almost didnt audition for Twilight

Posted in Characters on January 28, 2009 by theolympiccoven

Robert Pattinson admits he almost didn’t audition for his role in Twilight – because he was too nervous.

The actor, who first found fame playing Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, became a household name starring as vampire Edward Cullen in the film based on the novel by Stephenie Meyer.

But Pattinson admits he was unsure whether he’d be good enough to take on the role.

He says, “I didn’t want to go in for the part initially, because it’s really putting yourself out there.

“Going in for the audition, I felt like a bit of an idiot. I felt prejudged by anyone who turned up to the casting. I just thought even having the gall to go in means you’re a bit of an arrogant prick.”

Pattinson, 22, reprises his role as Cullen in Twilight sequel New Moon, which is due out later this year.

Twilight: An eternal waste of time

Posted in stuff on January 27, 2009 by theolympiccoven

What is it about the Twilight saga that has teenage girls and some adult women so fascinated? A good mix of romance and action, fantasy and poetic language, it seems like it would be a good read.

So yes, I fell victim to the books’ charm at first. And yes, I read the entire series. Therefore, I feel qualified in saying that it was a waste of my time. As promising as the series seemed to be, and as well written as it is, it fell flat. It left me disappointed and disgusted that I had read those thousands of pages for such an unsatisfying conclusion.

Twilight Cinema Review

Posted in stuff on January 27, 2009 by theolympiccoven

ETERNALLY condemned to walk the earth…and go to high school. It must be tough being a 17-year-old vampire.

Like Buffy the Vampire Slayer before it, Twilight appeals to its key demographic – by keeping it in the classroom.

The film tells the story of Bella, an overly sulky teenager whose two passions in life seem to be the macabre and her own internal monologues.

Naturally, when a pale, mysterious and moody boy walks – in slow motion of course – into the school canteen, an awkward love story begins.

Kristen Stewart "So Glad" Taylor Lautner's Back for Twilight Sequel

Twilight fans are pleased that Taylor Lautner has been rehired for the film’s sequel — and so is lead actress Kristen Stewart.
“I’m so glad they didn’t have to find somebody else; we already had him!” she tells MTV News. “I didn’t understand all the deliberation on [whether to bring him back]. But now that it’s set, we can all rest.”

Breakout stars of 2009

Posted in Characters on January 26, 2009 by theolympiccoven

Week after week, we see lists announcing that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are hands down, break out stars of 2008. But what about 2009? The Daily Beast has compiled a list of their predicted ‘Breakout Stars of 2009′, and two ‘Twilight’ actors made the list (and they weren’t Kristen OR Rob!).

Cam Gigandet:
Some teen-TV fans may remember Cam as the guest character on The O.C. responsible for killing off Mischa Barton, but he’s going to be known for much more than Marissa-cide after this year. Cam has a whopping seven movies in production for 2009—and those are just the ones that have been officially announced. After his breakout role as a pale vampire in last fall’s Twilight, Cam will appear in Pandorum (a thriller about a spaceship with Dennis Quaid), Five Star Day (a coming of age story with Jena Malone), and Kid Cannabis, among others.

Taylor Lautner:
After originating the role of Jacob Black in the original crazy successful teen-vampires-stare-and-brood Twilight, there was talk Taylor Lautner wouldn’t be cast in the sequel. Fortunately, the director was convinced and Lautner is bulking up to play the older role in the follow-up New Moon, which will be rushed into theaters this November. Robert Pattinson, watch your back. Teen girls, get your screaming pipes ready.

Posted in stuff on January 26, 2009 by theolympiccoven

Robert Pattinson has one gripe about living in Los Angeles – he misses the smell of London.
